Well it was being sent to be beached to act as a gun platform in Okinawa, didn't have much support. The Allied sent 260 planes after her, so its not like there was much of a fight.

The Bismarck had a pretty good battle. These ships were outdated with submarines and aircraft becoming so much better. Sitting ducks in most battles.

Sorry. Corvettes are much smaller than battleships, but are usually part of the battle group. They are less than 330' long (smaller than even a destroyer), and are relatively lightly armed.
